Environmental Portrait Photoshoot

A request for an environmental portrait of a colleague for use in an article for a professional body journal, in this case the Institute of Physics. The photo needed to illustrate the work that was being carried out by a recently graduated member of the team sharing her experiences of starting out in the nuclear industry.

Due to security issues using cameras and other photographic equipment on a nuclear licensed site we identified the best way forward was to employ Green Screen techniques to capture the portrait and use stock imagery to provide the background.

The background image was selected from the company’s library of marketing images that had been cleared for publication. The chosen image was similar to the environment that would have been encountered during the measurements being taken.

The image was successful, resulting in its use for articles in Physics World and the Telegraph newspaper.
