The grassy shores of the lake take on an almost copper hue during the winter months and tend to glow in the low warm sunlight at this time of year.
Unlike many of the other lakes in the Lake District, Wastwater is one of the quieter and remote areas even though it was named as Britain's favourite view in 2007.
