Buttermere Valley
LD1161
A view from Loweswater village towards the Buttermere valley. Crummock Water can be seen just behind the line of trees. The dry stone walls in the fields and grazing sheep are typical of the valleys of the Lake District.
The photograph was taken in late winter while the last snows were still on the mountain tops and trees still not in leaf.
