Little Grey Cygnet
WD1868
A grey mute swan cygnet (Cygnus olor), one of several cygnets at an ornamental pond just outside Whitehaven in West Cumbria. You can see the water droplets on its head and dripping from its beak.
The swans return each year to this pond to nest in the reeds and raise a brood of cygnets and I often stop by here to watch them grow.
