The Mountains of Wasdale Head from the shore of Wastwater

from £80.00

LD1673

A view along Wastwater towards Wasdale Head with the mountain peaks of Great Gable, Lingmell and Scafell at the head of the lake. The right of the lake is dominated by the scree slopes of Illgill Head and Whin Rigg. The screes are an unstable area of loose rocks and boulders.

The shores of the lake are easily accessible from the road, with many rocky outcrops stretching out into the lake. Unlike many of the other lakes in the Lake District, Wastwater is one of the quieter and remote areas even though it was named as Britain's favourite view in 2007.
